Our Story
Jan Gillie founded Gillie's in March 1974, transforming what was once an antique furniture store into a beloved ice cream shop. From that point, he introduced a dedicated plant-based lunch menu — a challenging endeavor in Southwest Virginia.
Over the years, the store has grown and evolved while maintaining its charm, becoming a cherished destination for breakfast and brunch, and continuing to serve delightful vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Through various challenges and triumphs, we have steadfastly upheld our values by using fresh ingredients and dedicating countless hours to prepare unique, scratch-made dishes.
We take immense pride in being a part of this vibrant community.
